My own little space on the internet provides an opportunity to share details of some individuals, organisations, and fine places that I endorse, whether they share a similar approach towards service and values, have assisted or been kind to me or are just plain useful!

I also firmly believe in supporting small business owners and the local Frinton fraternity.

Frinton Links

Fabulous Frinton Links

In 2012, this Berkshire-bred gal met an Essex boy and together we hatched a plan to escape the streets of London Town for a somewhat slower-paced, yet higher quality of life by the sea. Add a labrador called Bert and the package was complete.

I can’t fib, I was tentative about the idea of moving to Frinton-on-Sea, a town which had striven to minimise the presence of public houses and fish and chip vendors on its high street. I wasn’t ready to eschew all things alcoholic and deep-fried...

Thankfully the lovely townsfolk of Tendring finally relented.  We even have a Costa, a Sainsbury’s Local and a Greggs now!

Fast-forward several years and we are proud members of the Frinton glitterati and I feel inspired to share some of the many highlights of my most fabulous neighbourhood...

Frinton-on-Sea Lawn Tennis Club

With 16 grass and 8 all-weather courts, Frinton’s tennis club has some of the best facilities in the area. Between October and March, two hard courts are covered by the famous “bubble” allowing indoor play during the day and floodlit play at night. Fun events and competitive tournaments are held throughout the year where new members and their guests are welcome.  Oh, and Steve and I were married here, too! 🥰

So lucky to have this wonderful place on my doorstep. If you are coming to Frinton, I highly recommend an overnight stay which includes bed and breakfast as well as use of all spa facilities, slippers, towels and bathrobes, and access to the beautiful gardens.

Great Danes & The Patio

Great Danes offers lots of unique items you can't live without! On entering this Danish boutique, you may as well hand your credit cards over to B and Mike - you will not leave without buying something.

Should you work up a thirst whilst doing so, just pop into the charming courtyard out back where you’ll be served a tipple of your choice. A great meeting place.

Frinton Summer Theatre.png

Frinton Summer Theatre

This is no ‘am-dram’, it’s the real deal. Frinton Summer Theatre is a performing arts festival showcasing high-quality theatre in partnership with the local community. Founded in 1934, the company is the oldest surviving ‘weekly’ Summer Repertory Theatre company in England, producing a yearly summer season of eight productions. In 2019, Sir Ian McKellen brought his one-man show to Frinton and in 2023 we were honoured to host Brian Cox (of Succession fame) and his son who kindly agreed to an audience Q&A.

My favourite local venue for breakfast meetings… which also offers some of the best tapas dishes that I’ve eaten outside of Spain.

Breakfast, lunch or dinner. Superb.
