Me and my little business team had an idea about doing a podcast. Was it good? Was it silly? Was it realistic? Could we actually pull it off? Where would we even start? Would anyone care, and did we even have the time? There were about 67 other ‘what if’, doubts, and a whole heap of uncertainty.
There still is but the conclusion was simple – we’d give it a try. Put it out there, seize the day, and channel a bit of Kevin Costner's “if you build it, they will come” kind of attitude.
It took some time, research and a whole load of courage. Steve helped pick out the gear, we read a ton, spoke to a few brilliant people, and finally recorded a pilot episode.
I don’t have a huge production budget. We've had to learn as we go along, and I have taken myself out of my comfort zone in several ways – none more so than trying to piece and edit bits together.
The first episode is now finally ready to show people, and the pre-gig nerves have officially kicked in!
Episode 1 of 'I Want You To Go Away - The Podcast' drops on Monday 30 September, which is International Podcast Day 🎧.
Together with my trusty travel companion, Fay, I'll be chatting about all things travel, from quirky moments to hidden gems and the hilarious mishaps in between.
Our first episode touches on a topic we can all relate to: hotel gripes. First world problems, I know, but they grind our gears just the same!
I hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording it. And no, I’m definitely not quitting the day job anytime soon! 😉
Here's a sneaky peek of what's in store by way of a teaser trailer! Podcast links and subscription details coming soon.
