Jo’s Blog: Virtual Luxpo Revisited

My lockdown experience was brightened a little in May with my first participation in a Luxpo event, albeit virtually, so it was nice to end this tumultuous year by accepting the kind invitation to partake in a follow-up event.

Luxpo is the unique travel event run by industry publication TTG Luxury which in 'normal times' takes place in a swanky London venue and involves all the fun things that we used to do, like seeing people in person, sharing food and beverages, laughing and holding conversations without fear of contracting anything deadly. Oh, the good old days!

The event is designed to bring a range of high-end travel brands together with a handpicked selection of luxury agent specialists in a series of short but very focused one-to-one meetings; think speed-dating for travel experts!

It’s a great opportunity to make new connections, gain fresh ideas and inspiration for 2021 and beyond.

I’m seeing an uplift in enquiries for multi-generational family holidays and there’s definitely an appetite for trips of a 'bucket list' nature; once in a lifetime, must-see, must-do and with the people they most cherish. I get it totally.

I think that 'life list' trips is a far more apt term, and having spent a joyful morning in the Maldives, Fiji, Corfu, Samoa, New Zealand, Australia, the Cook Islands, Canada, the Masai Mara and the Florida Keys, I am feeling fully qualified and charged with exciting recommendations that feature true points of difference.

Huge thanks to each supplier for their enthusiasm and obvious passion for an industry that we all love, and a special thank you to April and all at TTG for having me.
